Final Line Up

Illustrations

I used this technique for presenting my illustrations as I thought it was a good way of showcasing my garments fully, as well as including the patterns and colour scheme / story I have developed.

Range Plan

The prints and patterns above would be available in the t-shirt styles ( and some other garment styles ) below.

Collection Name

For the name of my collection I wanted to play on the ideas of both fairy tales and animals. I came up with the name 'Furry Tale' as it is a play on words of both of my concept themes.
I want to make a 'logo' kind of thing as I have to include my collection name on all of my final boards, and would like this to to fit in with the style of my drawings.

Design Development

After my last designs, I noticed it is hard to design each garment singularly (particularly the tops and skirts) when they are combined into one outfit. I have decided to change the way I am going about designing these items, and instead of designing outfits as a whole, I will design each garment individually and put them back into outfits later. I think this will work well to ensure I make every garment interesting, as my intention is for every garment to be able to mix and match with the others in my collection as well as other garments the buyer will own already.
I want to design variations of tops and skirts to consider for my finals. I think this will allow me to expand on my ideas further.

Adding colour and pattern to my concepts

I quite like the look of these. I think I need to work on the colour combinations more, and amp up the pattern clashing more. Next time I will also try and include the screen print ideas I have had too.

Fabric Selection

I would like for my fabrics to come in a range of colours within the colour range I have selected ( pastel blue, purple and pink, as well as cream / white and brown ).
Ideally all of the fabrics used in this collection should be easily washed, and easily move with the body, because children are more likely to be doing activities where they spill things on themselves, or where they move in ways not all fabrics can stretch.
I think that the best fabrics to use are the standard kind of t-shirt fabrics, in a range of colours.
